LYDIA. Tralleis. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 30 mm, 12.66 g, 12 h), circa 166-160. Cista mystica from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; in field to left, TPAΛ; to right, humped bull standing right. BMC 12 var. (humped bull butting right). GRPC Lydia S383 var. (humped bull butting right). Kleiner & Noe Series 1b. Pinder 141. A very rare variety. Minor marks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
